Sorry it has been a while since I last posted. I went to West Virginia last weekend to see my family. I made an awesome video blog and spent tons of time editing and splicing it together. I was so excited to post it, only to find that after hours of trying, the server rejected it (multiple times, multiple days).
Anyway--I am so excited to tell you that I have the opportunity to go to Haiti in May! I have wanted to go to Haiti for years and am blown away at this open door. 16 students from Lee University are going to be going to Haiti from May 7-16. While there we will be working with the Church of God headquarters compound in Port-au-Prince and then going to Port Salut. While in Port Salut we will be working with kids the ministry has taken out of the slave trade. Words cannot express the excitement I have over this. I am not naive as to believe this will be easy, but my heart burns for kids like this. We will be teaching them to use computers, so they can have job opportunities open, and make better lives for themselves, breaking away from the life they have known.
As you guys take the time to read these blogs I wanted ya'll to be the first to know! The details are still coming and the dates and price of the trip can change slightly. I will have enough information to put together support/partner letters in a few weeks. Please be praying about the amount you could sow into this trip; into my life and into the children of Haiti. More information is to come. I will certainly keep you posted!
